About Author J. Elizabeth Vincent

A fantasy character illustration of a witch writing in a magic book

J. Elizabeth Vincent accidentally stumbled into the realm of fantasy writing after stealing her brother's copy of The Power that Preserves in high school. Her debut novel, Raven Thrall (2018), combines her love for all things magical with her flair for the dramatic, honed through years of local theater performances. When not crafting fantastical worlds, J. Elizabeth can be found road-tripping with her daughter to catch the latest in dance, drama, and musical theater productions.

A self-proclaimed fantasy and sci-fi junkie, she devours everything from Jim Butcher's Dresden Files to Prime's The Expanse with equal enthusiasm. J. Elizabeth swears by the creative power of juggling (metaphorically, of course)—she's simultaneously managing a household of three nearly grown children, four fur babies, and a husband, all while plotting her next novel.

This Virginia-based author finds inspiration in the beautiful landscapes around her home, though she suspects her best ideas come from the elaborate conversations she holds with her pets. J. Elizabeth Vincent is currently working on her next fantasy novel, which she writes in between acts of her family's daily "theatrical productions."
